Week 1 Family Orientation-Summer 2021: Welcome & Academics

Week 1 Family Orientation
Posted almost 4 years ago  in First-Year (Freshmen) Families .

Welcome to UD Family Orientation!

We are thrilled to partner with you as your student transitions to the University of Delaware. Just as they will experience the different components of New Student Orientation (NSO) this summer, you will also experience a specially-designed Family Orientation. This content will be delivered to you weekly over the next 5 weeks and will align with the content your student is receiving through their NSO Canvas course. If you have any questions, please contact Orientation & Transition Programs at otp@udel.edu

Below is the information you need-to-know for Week 1:

  1. Learn to navigate the Blue Hen Family Hub by watching this video tutorial and visit the Discover Communities section to join other areas of interest to you.

  2. Review the NSO Family Checklist.

  3. Read about what your student should expect from their NSO experience.

  4. View the Blue Hen Family Hub calendar to explore a variety of live topical zoom sessions you can attend to learn more about your students' UD experience.

During orientation it was mentioned several time that a pamphlet is available with a list of what the student will need. When I checked at the table, I was told they were all out. Where can I find this information?

This is a TERRIBLE website; too many portals, poor search feature.
