PARTNERING TO ENSURE STUDENT SUCCESS
Student Financial Services (SFS) is excited to welcome you to the Blue Hen Family Hub! SFS is here to help guide you through the billing and financial aid processes at the University of Delaware. We look forward to partnering with parents and guardians to ensure success for all our students.
SFS uses email to communicate financial aid and billing updates. Students must grant others access to their records, including financial information, for them to receive our billing notifications. Below are resources on privacy regulations, gaining access to our online account management site, using our document intake system, and parent borrowing to assist your student in financing a UD degree.
FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 grants to students certain rights, privileges, and protections relative to individually identifiable student education records which are maintained by the University. For more information on the implications of this Act at UD, visit the Registrar's Office.
PARENT / GUARDIAN SERVICES
Parent/Guardian Services allows UD students to share education information with authorized users. Students set access through their UDSIS-Student Center and indicate what specific components they want to share.
Communication: Financial Aid and the To Do List

FINALIZING YOUR FINANCIAL AID
Did you know certain types of financial aid require the student or parent/guardian to take action before the funds can pay to the student account? SFS lists these requirements on the To Do List, which students can access through the UDSIS-Student Center, and students and parents/guardians can find on My Finances.
Families required to complete certain actions, such as the verification process, will need to submit documentation using the process below.
MY SFS DOCS
My SFS Docs facilitates the collection of documentation needed to finalize a student's financial aid package. Whether a student is required to submit documents to complete the federal verification process or has initiated a financial aid appeal, this site ensures that information is submitted securely.
My SFS Docs is solely the student's account. As such, the student must set up login information to access this system. Parents are encouraged to facilitate sending documents and information through their student. Please do not email requested documents, as it is not a secure method for sending sensitive information and could delay the processing of documents.
Your student can grant you access to My Finances, if that hasn’t been done yet, through their UDSIS-Student Center by clicking on “Manage Parent/Guardian Access” under “Personal Information”.
