Students are welcome to purchase their own printers, use printers provided at select campus locations, and/or take advantage of a printing credit provided annually to each student by UD.

Before purchasing a printer, students should confirm that it is compatible with the computer or device they will use to print and also make sure they have the necessary cables or have wireless printing compatibility for UD’s network. Students are encouraged to email specific printer related questions to askit@udel.edu.

Keep in mind...

  • Printers with Airprint support are recommended for Macs.
  • Most wireless printers can be connected to the UD Devices network
  • For wireless printers, it is suggested that students have a backup USB or USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 cable for direct printing (depending on what ports are used on their printer and computer).

For on-campus printing, each year, every student receives a $10 printing credit that can be put toward printing at select campus locations. The first half ($5) of the credit is automatically applied to the student’s ID card on July 1. The second half is applied on January. The cost of printing is five cents per single-sided page, and four cents per double-sided page. The credit allows students to print between 200 and 250 total pages. Learn more about printing fees and where to print on campus. UD now supports mobile printing at several printing locations across campus.

Did you know? Students have access to poster printing services too!
