Hello parents! The University of Delaware along with the University of Delaware Police Department (UDPD) has launched the LiveSafe App as a safety feature to help keep your student safe and connected. The app connects directly to UD Police dispatchers who can send officers quickly to any situation. With different features, your student can:
Request Help – Students can call or text UDPD and chat with them in real time. They can also use LiveSafe to call 911 in emergency situations.
Share Information – The LiveSafe App will allow for your student to share information with UDPD, to submit tips related to safety concerns. They can attach a photo, video, or audio file. This can be done anonymously through the app.
SafeWalk – Through the app, students can ask friends and family to virtually escort them to their destination. Once enable, families can get real time alerts based on their specific location.
Access UD Resources – Students can also use the LiveSafe App to access important information from the University of Delaware, such as emergency procedures and department resources. There is also a feature which will allow your student to receive broadcast messages from the University of Delaware.
Keep your student safe and have them download the app today! (Apple App Store / Google Play for Android)
