Give NowFor their first year on campus, freshmen students can live in one of 11 different residence halls, spread across Laird and East Campus.
On Laird campus, our halls are all suite style: two rooms share a single bathroom. Students who live in these rooms are responsible for cleaning their own bathrooms, so be sure to have your Blue Hen pack some cleaning supplies. Curious to see what suites look like? Scroll to the bottom of the Thomas McKean and James Smith page to view their room layouts.
On East Campus, our halls are traditional: all rooms on a floor share common bathrooms separated by sex and cleaned by Custodial Services. East Campus halls vary the most in room layout -- your Blue Hen could even live in one of our Z-shaped rooms (this layout is exclusive to Harrington and Russell halls)! Explore all five floors of Louis L. Redding Hall here.
Build your Blue Hen's excitement with a virtual, in-building tour of our First-Year spaces. Check them out in our Highlights, here, on Instagram! Ready to plan your student's new room? Review our decorating tips and storage hacks on our Pinterest.

How do you go about having beds ‘unbunked’ before move-in? My student is in a triple at Gilbert and would like to have all beds on floor.
What size area rug is recommended for a double room at Redding Hall? 5x8 or 6x 10?
When is move in day going to be assigned? This is a bit of a hardship not knowing exact assigned date.
