Are  you attending Parents and Family Weekend events, Oct. 1-3? Please review these details, which were also emailed to the primary registrant's email address:

Dear Blue Hen families,

We are thrilled to host you and your student at Parents and Family Weekend, October 1-3! As you plan for this event, we have a few important updates which touch upon Covid-19 protocols and free events:

  • Everyone ages 2+, regardless of vaccination status, is required to wear masks indoors. Masks are also required outdoors when physical distancing is not possible.
  • As of Sept. 10, the University of Delaware also requires all external visitors to UD events to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of the event’s start. The new policy applies to external visitors ages 12+ for all UD events that are open to the public. For Parents and Family Weekend, test results from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 will be acceptable proof for COVID-19 clearance. Proof of vaccination, completed at least two weeks prior to Oct. 1, is also acceptable. For students, proof of accepted exemption to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for on-campus students is also acceptable.
  • Later this week, we will send all families a link as to where you can upload your COVID-19 vaccination card or negative PCR test result within 72 hours.
  • We have organized two Centralized Check-Ins for Parents and Family Weekend where each member of your party, including your student, can have your COVID-19 clearance verified and receive a wristband for expedited entry to subsequent PFW activities.

Centralized Check-Ins: All families are asked to check-in at one of two Parents and Family Weekend events and have their COVID-19 clearance verified:

  • Friday from 4-6 p.m. on the North part of the Central Green: Parents & Family Weekend Kick-Off and Check-In (families can park for free at the Trabant parking garage)
  • Saturday from 10 a.m. - noon on the North part of the Central Green: Coffee with the Colleges (families can park for free at the Trabant parking garage)

We are updating the daily health screening that is required of all campus visitors to accommodate an upload for COVID-19 vaccination or PCR test result. Individuals ages 12+ who check into Parents and Family Weekend at either of these two activities will be able to show their health screening results and receive a yellow Student Life wristband that will indicate your COVID-19 clearance. This will assist with expedited entry to subsequent PFW activities.

A limited supply of wristbands will also be available at subsequent activities throughout the Weekend. Individuals who are unable to obtain a wristband at a Centralized Check-In, or later activity, should be prepared to show their detailed health screening status, including COVID-19 clearance, at each activity they attend.

Please note that the daily health screening should be filled out each day you are on campus, but you will not need to provide your COVID-19 clearance details again.

Free events for all families: In addition to the Kick-Off and Check-In and Coffee with the Colleges, families can attend Outdoor Movies. Friday night we will be showing Disney’s Onward, and Saturday night we will be showing The Meg. Bring your blankets or chairs.

We hope every family and student has a fun and safe Parents and Family Weekend!

Go Blue Hens,

My ticket for the Ghost Tour shows it as being for Friday at 4pm. There is no Ghost Tour on Friday at 4pm, per the schedule of events. Only 8pm and 10pm. How do I find out when my ticket is for?

We are still waiting for a link to upload our cards. We're traveling from pretty far out of state and we'll be there tomorrow but haven't received anything yet. Is there a link that someone can send or put in this...see more

We are only coming for the football game. Do we need the yellow wristbands for that? If so, how do we get them?
